Week 1- JOURNALIST

Hi, I'm Amparo Izquierdo. My role this week has been the journalist, so I am in charge of writing a weekly article about what has happened in the group during the week and documenting everything that happens in the group.

On Tuesday 23rd February, our teacher explained to us our first assignment of the subject; we looked for some photos, taking care that they were not copyrighted, some quotes, and we got down to work to shape the assignment, which was a padlet. Afterwards, we made a video call, as we were caught by surprise by the dynamics of the class, and we didn't have time to do most of the things, we used the zoom to finish the padlet and organise the tasks, so that everything was clear and we could do the task correctly. That same afternoon, Angela created and posted on instagram the images with the hashtags and phrases. A couple of days later the blog was created, and we started to upload the posts; through several video calls we continued with the work, so that it would look as good as possible.

At the beginning we felt quite overwhelmed, because it was new for us to work under pressure, and it was the first class, but we are sure that we will get into the habit and we will manage to improve and progress little by little.

In addition, the journalist-historian has the labour of exploring sites of interests which may be interesting either for the subject or for your class mates.

The other day, while I was on instagram, I came across a link, which I found really interesting, it's a website called Mental Floss, it tells you the hidden stories behind the popular happenings around the world, where they cover everything from science to history to technology to pop culture. I found facts and curiosities that I could never have imagined, it's really interesting.

As for my colleagues' recommendations, we find the Athenians' very interesting; we think it has a fairly well-structured homepage, and that it contains a lot of important information.
